Below we listed all new parts of the Newzie, changes to existing ones, and
bugs that lived once upon a time inside the Newzie. Hope you like this release.
New Features :
- Today Panel to browse inside newly retrieved posts
- Tabs are not shown in one line, but in multiple rows
- Showing new posts in the tooltip of focused subscription
- Newzie status panel pops up when hovering over systemtray icon
- Visibility of post content is togglable to shrink down shown content
- Stripping out images or whole html code from retrieved posts of a channel
- Monitoring occurances of words inside monitored webpages
- Switch to turn on/off the indexing feature for better performance

- Shortcuts for focused/opened subscription:

- When there is no new post inside opened subscription, it shows the number of unread posts
- When new posts comes, icon inside the system tray turns into red
- 'Add to my Reading Box' and 'Add to My Favorites' options for browsed webpages inside Newzie
- System status messages shown inside the Status bar; such as
- when new items are added
- when state of a feature changes, eg. 'Auto syncrhonization suspended' message
- Switch to make Newzie show titles inside the Newsbar in upper case or as they are
- Newzie remembers last set on-fly filtering command and applies that command when it starts up
- New "Open its Homepage" menu option for the context menu of channels
- New start-up mode; that is, starting with Today Panel.
- When monitored webpage has updated parts, Newzie gives at most 3 samples from new text segments, links, and/or images.
- Like marking unread posts as read, "Mark Webpage as Seen" feature for updated webpages.
Changed Parts :
- Popup Notifier panel is upgraded to 'Today Panel'
- If publication date is not older than 1 day, it will not show the pubdate in full length
- In treeview mode, when subscriptions are synching, show synch icon, rather than showing those icons in color (for consistency reason)
- Behavior change for the context menu options of folder. They are not only affective on those posts inside that folder, but all other posts reside under that folder in the tree hierarchy (recursive)
- By default, Newzie will not index retrieved content (for performance reasons)
- Buttons on the Newsbar changed. Now there are buttons to hide, switch to fullview mode, get more options and play/pause the newsbar.
- Statement "Flag it" inside the context menu of a post has been changed to "Mark as a Favorite"
- Flagged posts were not distinguisable. Now a star is shown aside its title.
- Homepage link given inside the "Feed Info" tab of a channel properties is now clickable.
- Webpage address and the contact email address given in the About dialog are now clickable.
Removed Bugs :
- Mouse whell was not functioning properly at the start up. You needed to close that window and reopen a new one. But you dont need this trick any longer. Now it is fully functional.
- Newsbar showed all new posts over and over again after each update of a subscription
- After closing Feedback dialog, all network activity stopped, which was a horrifying bug of all
- Listed posts inside newsbar wasn't sorted as new ones come
- When Newzie started up in the SystemTray, popup notifier never came out of the sytsem tray when updates retrieved, till you reminimize it
- Make URLs copyable and pastable via keyboard shortcuts inside edit fields
- Search results was not shown properly in listview mode
- When DPI properties of the screen changes, dialogs were not fully visible/reachable
- Sometimes loose tooltips handed on the screen even though Newzie was not the focused application at that moment
- Listview was not updated on fly based on given filtering command
- After starting Newzie, word watchdogs which cought posts in the last session were not reseted properly.
- Clicking on a title of post in the listview opens up its associated webpage, which was annoying.
- RETURN strokes have been removed from shown posts
- In backup dialog, it was reseting backup method selection after showing where to put bakcup files.
- When switching between newsbar and fullview modes, speed of the sliding got reset
- In some cases, Folder dialog allowed user to create a folder at the wrong place inside the tree hierarachy
- '-0.0' was shown in the statistics panel, which should only be '0.0'
- Sweeper setting option 'Do not delete posts inside My Reading Box' was not working at some cases.
- "Monitor via Newzie" option was not enabled in the options menu of a webpage tab window.
- Last checked date of webpages was not shown correctly in the listview.
- At the startup, Newzie loads the treeview twice one right after another
- When trying to open a webpage from html-based report' view, Newzie crashed
- Disabling auto-synchronization of a channel or webpage was not working
- "Flag it" option of the context menu of a post was not working
- "Open (ext)" option of the context menu of a post was not working
- In folder highlights, page navigation panel didn't allow you to switch between pages
- When selecting "Synchronize Under" option, it didn't include bulk channels and webpages
- Bugs inside the highlighting module of webpage monitor procedure.
- Internal system bugs have been removed
